Maven Pictures is working on the production of a film based on British fashion designer Alexander McQueen. The movie will be called The Ripper and will focus on the tempestuous friendship between him and English magazine editor Isabella Blow.
Their relationship started when Blow discovered McQueen at his graduation show— ‘Jack the Ripper Stalks His Victims’ in 1992 and it carried on for years as the stylist continued to support the young designer. However, it all ended after he was named Creative Director of Givenchy and gave no credit or work to Blow.
Blow died at the age of 48 in 2008 and McQueen died in 2010 at the age of 40, both by suicide. To this point it is still believed that McQueen is in a way responsible for Blow’s death.
Both individuals were a massive part of fashion and their work had remarkable effects in the industry. There has been no confirmation about who will play their roles but we will keep you updated for release dates and more.
