It is normal for different fashion brands to seek inspiration on each other’s designs. However, sometimes big corporate brands copy the work of independent retailers and the similarity between their version and the original one is too much for it to be flattery.
Yesterday it was Jay-Z’s turn to be called out for plagiarism as different pieces from his brand Rocawear resemble those of American techno group Marshstepper. It was one of the main members of the band, JS Aurelius who made the allegation via Facebook, where he compared his designs next to those of Rocawear.
Jay-Z is yet to respond to the accusation. Take a look at the pictures below and let us know what you think, the graphics on the right are designed by Marshstepper and the ones on the left are used for the ‘Hellraiser’ range by Rocawear.
