The biggest trend by far in high fashion this season has been collaborations. Gosha Rubchinskiy had his with Italian sportswear brands, OFF-WHITE with Umbro, and now Vetements, who collaborated with a whooping 18 different brands for their latest Spring/Summer 2017 collection. The full list of collaborators features Carhartt WIP, Levi’s, Canada Goose, Eastpak, Reebok, Alpha Industries, COMME des GARÇONS, Champion, Schott, Manolo Blahnik, Brioni, Lucchese, Mackintosh, Church’s, Dr. Martens, Kawasaki and Juicy Couture.
Some of the collabs were obvious: Juicy Couture’s signature velour tracksuits, Reebok’s windbreakers, and the Levi denim jackets. Others were less so, but it’s very surprising how cohesive the show was despite so much input from other brands. Definitely shows the power and skill of Vetements.
